At Althought Therapy, we are a private pay practice because this model allows us to provide the highest quality, most individualized care—without the constraints often imposed by insurance companies. This means your therapy is guided by your needs and goals, not external requirements such as diagnosis codes, session limits, or mandated treatment timelines.
Paying privately ensures your therapy remains confidential, flexible, and fully tailored to you. Our commitment is to create a space where your healing unfolds at its own pace—anchored in trust, safety, and depth. Here, you have the freedom to focus on what truly matters: building insight, restoring connection, and moving toward lasting change.

Why Clients Choose Althought Therapy
Clients choose Althought Therapy because they want therapy that meets them at their level — both intellectually and emotionally. Many of our clients are professionals, physicians, attorneys, or leaders in their fields. They are skilled at solving complex problems, but often find that insight alone doesn’t quiet the anxiety, relational tension, or sense of disconnection that brought them here.
At Althought Therapy, we offer an approach that is both analytically grounded and emotionally attuned. We integrate neuroscience, attachment theory, and psychodynamic insight with a clear understanding of how stress, identity, and early experience shape behavior and relationships in the present. Our work focuses on helping you move from cognitive understanding to embodied change — where clarity, self-compassion, and regulation become lived experiences, not abstract goals.
We specialize in working with people who value precision, autonomy, and depth. Our clients are often self-aware, high-functioning, and reflective — yet still find themselves repeating familiar patterns, overextending, or feeling unseen despite outward success. We help you understand how those protective adaptations developed, and how to loosen them without losing your competence or drive.
Therapy with us is collaborative and intelligent — a space where your complexity is honored, your boundaries respected, and your insight expanded. It’s not about diagnosing or fixing; it’s about refining your internal system so that the same intelligence that drives your external success also supports your inner steadiness and connection.
Clients often describe their experience here as both clarifying and grounding — a process that helps them think more clearly, feel more deeply, and move through life with greater freedom and integrity.
At its core, Althought Therapy is where understanding meets embodiment — where lasting transformation happens through insight, safety, and the capacity to stay present with what’s real.
Why Couples Choose Althought Therapy
Couples come to Althought Therapy looking for tools — and we understand why. When communication breaks down or conflict escalates, it’s natural to want strategies that help things feel manageable again. Our work absolutely includes practical tools: ways to de-escalate conflict, rebuild trust, and communicate needs without defensiveness. But tools are only effective when they grow from a deeper understanding of what’s driving the disconnection.
That’s where our approach differs. We combine the structure of evidence-based frameworks — like the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) — with the depth of attachment, psychodynamic, and neuroscience-informed insight. You’ll gain the skills to navigate difficult moments and the self-awareness to understand why those moments arise in the first place.
We help couples slow down reactivity, recognize emotional patterns in real time, and learn how to repair after rupture. Sessions often begin with concrete tools — communication scaffolds, emotional regulation strategies, shared meaning exercises — and gradually move toward the deeper work of rebuilding safety, intimacy, and trust. Over time, these conversations become more natural and self-sustaining, because the tools have become integrated ways of relating, not external scripts.
At Althought Therapy, we hold space for three relationships at once: you, your partner, and the partnership itself. Our role is to help you each feel understood as individuals while creating a shared foundation that supports both of you.
Couples often tell us they were initially seeking “better communication,” but discovered something more meaningful — the ability to stay connected even when it’s uncomfortable, to repair without blame, and to trust that conflict can become a doorway rather than a dead end.
Our goal isn’t to offer quick fixes — it’s to help you build the capacity to communicate, regulate, and connect in ways that last. Tools are where we start. Transformation is where we end.
